Enhanced modelling and test suite
July 6 - Rational Software is
showing Rational Suite 1.1, which it claims to be the first integrated development tool
able to generate automated performance tests directly from a visual application model. The
product now incorporates the load testing product, PerformanceStudio, and provides updated
versions of Rational RequisitePro, Rational Rose and Rational TeamTest.
PerformanceStudio has a new feature, PerformanceArchitect,
which validates the performance of an application from its architectural model. Rational
Rose 98i includes new capabilities for business process modelling, data access and team
development.
Rational Software will be demonstrating its products at stands
F20 and G10. More details from www.rational.com
or by phoning +31 23 568 4656. Sten Jacobson of Rational Software is also speaking at
TechEd 99.
RoboHELP enters the new millenium
July 6 - Blue Sky
Software is previewing RoboHELP Office 2000, the latest version of its help authoring tool
which is due for release in Europe late this summer.
This new version features close integration with Microsoft
Office 2000, allowing authors to make use of Word 2000's enhanced functions. It also
enables HTML Help files to be produced from existing WinHelp projects, and supports the
new JavaHelp 1.0 format.
RoboHelp's own cross-platform help format, WebHelp, has
been improved too and is now based on Dynamic HTML. It now has a full-text search using
Boolean operators, a customisable WebHelp interface, and faster loading.
Visit Blue Sky Software on stand F17 or
see www.blue-sky-software.com for more
details. The company can be contacted on +1 858 551 2485.
Windows device drivers made easier
July
6 - NuMega is showing DriverStudio, a new suite of tools for constructing Windows
device drivers.

building the WDM drivers supported by Windows NT, 2000 and 98; VtoolsD for the VxDs used
by Windows 98, 95 and 3.1; and DriverAgent which allows you to access hardware directly,
without having to use a device driver. The package also comes with SoftICE; Driver
Workbench, for testing and debugging; Field Agent, for capturing information from remote
user sites; and special Driver Editions of BoundsChecker, TrueTime and TrueCoverage.

Central monitoring from NetIQ
July 6 - NetIQ is demonstrating
AppManager, which acts as a central monitor for distributed Windows NT and server
applications such as Microsoft Exchange or Citrix WinFrame. It works by collecting
performance data and monitoring events according to 'Knowledge Scripts' created from a
central console. When an event occurs the Knowledge Script can take corrective action,
such as restarting a server or issuing an email.
AppManager is able to work with other system management
tools, such as Compaq Insight Manager and Tivoli Enterprise, and is even used internally
by Microsoft itself. More details at www.netiq.com or stand
D23. Alternatively, phone + 44 1784 895074 (UK) or + 49 89 99 21 64 81 (Germany).
Programmable accounts from AccountView
July 6 - The latest version of AccountView has been written as a
three-tier COM-based application, which makes it fully programmable from languages such as
Visual Basic or Visual FoxPro. AccountView 5.0 is aimed at the European market, and is
both multi-lingual and multi-currency (including support for the euro). For further
details drop in at stand C24 or visit www.accountview.com. Alternatively phone +31 20 617
1070 (Netherlands), +49 69 975 44548 (Germany) or +44 171 477 6524 (UK).

July 6 - Entevo Corporation is
showing DirectMigrate for NDS 1.5 at TechEd 99. This is a new version of its tool for
migrating from Novell Directory Services (NDS) to the Windows NT domain structure.
DirectMigrate allows you to move directly from NDS to a flat Windows NT domain structure,
or to Entevo's own DirectMap virtual directory in preparation for eventual migration to
Windows 2000's Active Directory.
The new version features enhanced support for trial
migrations, phased migration, and migration rollback. For more details visit stand
C27 or www.entevo.com, or phone +44 1494
