Streaming content for mobiles

25 June 2001 - weComm's proprietary development platform, mStrlP, aims to provide live, continuous, bi-directional streaming of content, communications and transactions to mobile devices. Email on the move

25 June 2001 - The BlackBerry wireless email solution is on show on the Research in Motion stand. This uses the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) which is being introduced across Europe.
      The Enterprise Edition of Blackberry is designed to integrate seamlessly with corporate email systems allowing mobile users to be constantly connected to their business email account. It uses 'push' technology so that emails are sent directly to the mobile user. 
      Blackberry is based on a Java (J2ME) platform, and consists of wireless handhelds, PC synchronisation software, enterprise server software, end-to-end encryption technology, and airtime on a GPRS network. Application mining from CAST

15 June 2001 - CAST is demonstrating its Application Mining Suite designed to "shed light on Visual Studio applications' inner workings to facilitate Microsoft .NET development and migration". The product aims to eliminate tedious tasks in application development and maintenance. It provides detailed information about how an application works, such as locating specific component uses, and helps developers assess the impact of any proposed code changes. Developer training and books

15 June 2001 - DevelopMentor is on hand to discuss its services and educational resources for software developers. The company provides hands-on training via instructor-led courses in London, as well as in Boston, Los Angeles and Portland in the US. Its technical team has published over 30 technical books and presented at developer conferences worldwide. DevelopMentor also produces Gen<X>, described as a 'code generalisation tool'. Software installers get an upgrade

15 June 2001 - InstallShield Software is showing two new products - InstallShield AdminStudio 2.0 and InstallShield Developer 7.0. The former is described as a "repackaging/customisation and conflict management solution designed to meet the application pre-deployment needs of systems administrators". InstallShield Developer 7.0 is the latest release of the company's Windows setup authoring software. This includes support for Windows XP, .NET and 64-bit applications. Collaborate with Lotus software

15 June 2001 - On the Lotus stand you can see Lotus QuickPlace and Lotus Sametime. Quickplace is a web-based 'teamware' product that lets users create a shared workspace, called a QuickPlace, where team members can communicate, as well as share, manage and organise information such as documents and project schedules.
